Katya Nikonorova was born in Astrakhan, Russia, where she has been studying the piano consistently for almost 16 years since she was 6. Her first Piano Lessons were given by Professor Lyudmila Kruglova in Music School in Astrakhan, who then has also become her piano tutor when Ekaterina has joined Conservatoire.
During her studies she took part in many piano festivals, competitions and concerts organised by local government or other authorities where she has played as a soloist, accompanist and chamber ensemble player.
To encourage her creative ability and achievement in Arts she was awarded with grant from Local Government in 1998 and received bursaries on regular basis. While she has studied in Music College, she got a job invitation at School of Arts where she has obtained her practical skills working as a choir accompanist and piano teacher.
During her education, starting at Music School and followed by Music College, Conservatoire and Institute of Language, she has enjoyed gaining experience and developing her music career.
In 2005 she has joined her partner to study in the UK, which helped to inspire
her talents for more achievements. As a result, in few years she has decided to make Britain her home, falling in love with people and traditions here.
Since 2009 she is working on developing the new technique of how to gain interest and passion to music for young people.
